Who's That Girl? - Meet Powerhouse, Sara Toufali of Black & Blooms

You wear a lot of hats, being an actor, influencer and graphic designer. How do you balance these while also making time for yourself?
"Growing up I was always involved in lots of activities, whether it was music lessons, drama club, soccer practice, or high school jobs. My parents always encouraged me to work hard and go after anything that interested me and I think that’s stuck with me in adulthood. I actually feel really guilty when I waste a day and don’t work on any projects! That’s not to say I don’t enjoy “me” time - I think I just enjoy it better after a day of working towards my goals and things I’m excited about."

Tell us about your experience as an actor living in LA. What has been the most rewarding experience you've had through pursuing this dream, and what has proven unexpected?
"Both the most rewarding and unexpected experience about acting in LA would have to be finding an acting class/style I really connected to on a deep level. It’s a way of thinking and of life that has taught me so much more than just acting. It has helped me see the world from so many different points of views, and reminds me to practice empathy with everyone I meet."

What does a typical day look like for you? Walk us through your routine.
"I put on my graphic design/photo editing hat in the mornings, and work on any projects I may have. If I have an acting opportunity coming up I’ll prepare for that. Later in the afternoon my boyfriend and I like to get outside, explore, and take photographs. I’ll also take photos of my apartment to share on Instagram. Sometimes I’ll do a bit of thrifting, or a happy hour to catch up with friends, and of course any errands and home chores that need attention. In the evening I’ll upload the photos I’ve taken throughout the day, then I’ll go through and pick my favorites to edit and ultimately post on Insta or my blog. At night I’ll watch the TV shows I have waiting for me on my DVR and end the evening with a glass of wine or ice cream (or both!) ;)"

We're constantly inspired by your plant decor on Instagram and your blog! Love the boho vibe. Have you always enjoyed plants and the bohemian lifestyle? Or is this a new found passion?
"Thank you so much! I’ve been surrounded by plant-loving women my whole life, so that has definitely rubbed off on me. One of my mom’s passion is working in her gardens and she always has had a lot of plants in our house growing up. Same with my grandmother, she loved working in her garden and was always so proud to take us around her yard and show us all the new plants and flowers she’d planted. I didn’t really embrace this lifestyle for myself though till after I graduated college and got my own apartment. It started with one plant and has grown from there!"

Working on any new projects that you'd like to share with us?
"I’m still very new to the blogging world - I only started mine a few months ago! So I’m always thinking of projects and fun posts to add to it, and working on some cool collabs – stay tuned!"

What is your favorite place you've traveled to?
"I was incredibly lucky to be able to travel throughout Europe with my family while growing up and I have such great memories of visiting all the difference countries. I also studied abroad in Florence, Italy, so that city will always have a special place in my heart. But I suppose my favorite would have to be Morocco. It’s such a beautiful country and the people there are so wonderful – not to mention the delish food and amazing design style!"

What does the #MostWantedDreams mentality mean to you?
"Explore the things you’re happiest doing, then work hard doing those things till you achieve your dreams, no matter how long it takes! Remember to have fun and don’t be too hard on yourself along the way."
